Chris specialises in non-contentious technology projects, commercial contracts and advising on data protection compliance.

He has over 5 years’ experience in advising clients across a range of sectors including health, financial services, retail and manufacturing.

Chris combines genuine expertise in transactional technology projects (contract drafting and negotiating) with advising on privacy risks, particularly in the context of IT transactions. He has also spent time in house with clients on secondment, including a successful secondment with a major IT supplier.

Relevant experience includes:

• Supporting EMIS Health in relation to its appointment to the NHS GP IT Futures framework, which involved reviewing, redrafting and advising on the complex framework agreement and call off contracts.  
• A secondment to the Information Commissioner’s Office, assisting with the Sandbox project, which involved supporting various organisations who were trialling innovative technology solutions that processed personal data in a potentially high risk manner.
• Assisting an AIM listed anti-virus software supplier with redrafting its suite of standard distribution, reseller and end user licence agreements.
• Working closely with a FinTech supplier in relation to a complex open banking services project. Chris received the following client testimonial as part of 2020 directories publication: ”Chris Air always impresses with his awareness and commitment.”
• Chris was recognised in the 2020 edition of the Legal 500 publication, in particular for IT in Manchester.

In addition, Chris holds the BCS Certificate in Data Protection.
