Overview

International law firm DAC Beachcroft is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the gold prize in the ‘Best Internal Communications from the Professional Services Sector’ category of Communicate magazine’s Internal Communications and Engagement Awards.

The award recognises DACB’s Noisy Innovation campaign, an internal communications initiative that set out to raise the volume about innovation within the firm and equip colleagues to talk confidently about the innovative solutions and approaches the firm offers its clients.  The campaign, run during summer 2021, coincided with the five-year anniversary of the founding of DACB’s research and development hub, known as Innovations Lab, as well as the firm’s first dedicated Innovation Week and firm-wide hackathon.

The Noisy Innovation project team was led by DACB’s Head of Communications, Brooke Johnston, and included Pete Allchorne, partner and Head of Innovations Lab; Nathan Butcher, partner and Director of Clients & Markets; Julia Boniferro, Senior Marketing Manager; Lucy Mitchell, Senior Digital & Brand Manager; and Maddie Jagatia, Project Manager.

Pete said, “This campaign was fun and engaging and, crucially, noisy.  It got our colleagues excited about innovation and was a fantastic way to look back at the many innovation successes we have had since setting up Innovations Lab back in 2016.  It also primed our colleagues to support a bold, exciting marketing campaign that we launched later in the year and ensured everyone was well equipped to take our innovation messages externally.”

Following the Noisy Innovation internal communications campaign, DACB launched ‘What If?’, a 360-degree augmented reality experience that showcased innovation at DACB.  Accessed on a mobile phone via a QR code and available to view on VR headsets, the experience invited clients and contacts to open a portal, physically step through and immerse themselves in DACB’s world of innovation.

The Internal Communications and Engagement Awards celebrate achievement and excellence in internal communications.  The awards ceremony took place in London on 6 July 2022.
