  • Biography

    Gill is a Partner in our Healthcare Regulatory team specialising in mental health law and regulation, capacity and consent, patient confidentiality, inquests, clinical governance and patient safety.

    She has extensive experience of advising both acute and mental health providers on the complex regulatory framework within which they operate, which includes CQC scrutiny and enforcement, issues of capacity and consent to treatment, and the implications of and overlap between the MCA and MHA jurisdictions.

    Gill also has a particular interest in patient confidentiality, with expertise in the obligations imposed by the evolving legal framework and professional obligations, and is a regular speaker at events for the National Data Guardian.

    Gill has delivered training throughout her professional career to a wide range of healthcare professionals. She also lectures on the Mental Health and Medical Law LLM courses at Northumbria University.
