Sharon Hunter is an insurance litigator in our London Minster Court office. She specialises in the field of property and construction insurance and regularly handles disputes involving construction professionals and their insurers.
Her experience includes:
Representing CAR insurers in a Commercial Court trial in a dispute with marine insurers regarding policy cover;
Acting for project managers in a high-profile professional negligence dispute relating to a six storey PFI project extension to a London hospital, which case is now a leading authority on global claims and contribution proceedings;
Running arbitrations under various rules, including the LCIA and Swiss Rules for CAR market insurers.
Sharon has also recently advised in a number of professional indemnity disputes involving structural engineers and architects.
In addition, she acts for contractors and sub-contractors both in defence of contractual claims and by way of recovery claims.
She also regularly deals with claims concerning any element of property damage, arising from fire, flood, explosion and theft. Sharon is currently running a £10m fire recovery claim on behalf of a Housing Association in the Technology & Construction Court in London.
Sharon also assists a large London-based property development firm in dealing with any on-site incidents.
Her practice involves both domestic and international work. She has conducted mediations, adjudications and arbitrations on behalf of clients.
Sharon qualified in 1997, having joined DAC Beachcroft as a trainee in 1995.
