Mark Douglas is a Defendant Insurance Lawyer in our Newcastle office.
He specialises in Defendant injury litigation including employer and public liability matters of varying value up to complex and high value claims.
Also, Mark deals with disease litigation particularly NIHL and HAVS claims and also construction injury claims for a number of commercial clients where there is sub-contractor involvement/indemnity issues. His clients are primarily local authorities and large commercial organisations via instructions from insurers, brokers and loss adjusters.
Mark's experience includes:
Successful defence in a high value claim for a large Plc client arising from proceedings issued by a driver who suffered multiple injuries as a result of one of their haulage lorries rolling over.
Setting up a number of working arrangements for local authority and commercial clients with regard to the defence of their historical hearing loss claims where insurers cannot be identified due to the passage of time;
Successfully defending a national house builder client on causation grounds (rather than breach of duty) in a 3 Defendant complex injury claim where a sub-contractor employee had fallen through a roof.
Mark qualified in 1998 and joined DAC Beachcroft in May 2016 having previously spent his career at Crutes Law Firm (DWF since 2012 following a merger).
