Justin has been responsible for undertaking the defence of high value and complex clinical negligence claims since 1996 on behalf of Acute, Mental Health and Primary Care Trusts, and SHAs on behalf of NHS Resolution (formerly the NHS Litigation Authority).
He also regularly advises the MDU and their members on a wide variety of claims across all areas of expertise.
In addition, Justin regularly interviews General Practitioners, private and NHS consultants and nursing staff, advising them on individual claims and potential risk management, and GMC/NMC implications arising from those claims.
Justin has successfully defended several clinical negligence claims at trial including:
- A cerebral palsy birth injury claim on breach of duty and causation;
- A claim against a Health Authority arising out of the operation of the Cervical Screening Programme;
- An alleged failure to diagnose and treat cauda equina syndrome resulting in bladder and bowel symptoms.
