Elisabeth Jones

Liz Jones is a Partner within the National Complex Injury Team. She deals with motor and employer/public liability claims involving injuries of maximum severity, including spinal injuries, amputations and brain injuries.

Liz has many years of experience in defending high value and complex injury claims. She acts for several insurers, with nominated status with two leading insurers and is relied upon as a trusted advisor to them. Liz is known for her forensic but pragmatic approach. She has an ability to easily engage with individuals which together with her agile approach, produces excellent results for her clients. 

Liz has written articles for her insurer client's bespoke magazines on topical issues and provides training seminars to her insurer clients on a variety of subjects within the Complex Injury arena.

Relevant experience includes:

• Successfully reducing a claimant's claim in excess of £5 million to an all-inclusive deal at £290,000. This resulted in a saving of over £4.5 million through successful forensic investigation into the claimant's fabricated employment history. 
• Advising on a claim valued at £10 million where the claimant was a minor pedestrian with a very severe brain injury. The claim was settled on a without prejudice basis at £1.25 million without any medical evidence expense being incurred. The Judge on approval commended both parties on their dealings and referred to both parties' behaviour as exemplary for the ways that the issues had been dealt with. 
• Advising on a multi-party action arising from an electric shock claim. The claimant, whilst at the insured's premises, suffered an electric shock resulting in him sustaining a severe brain injury with right sided hemiplegia. Liz carried out a detailed and forensic liability investigation which ultimately led to a successful repudiation.
• Advising on a claim that arose following a minor's fall from a Housing Association property. As a result of the accident the minor suffered a brain injury. She carried out a thorough investigation into liability which led to a successful repudiation.
