This article explains the court fees for proceedings started under Practice Direction 27B. Full details have recently been published on the whiplash gov.uk website.

The three tables below illustrate the position:

  • Table 1 tells you which fee needs to be paid in each type of court claim that can be started under PD 27B.
  • Table 2 explains the fees payable where a court claim has already been started under another section – one of the features of PD 27B is that there may need to be more than one application to court in the same case.
  • Table 3 sets out the fees payable – including plans to increase some of those fees later this year, which are currently under consultation.
