International law firm DAC Beachcroft has appointed partner Khurram Shamsee as head of its Business Advisory Group.
After joining DACB as an employment and pensions partner in 2010, Khurram became Head of London Employment & Pensions in 2013, served as an elected member of the firm's LLP Board between 2017 and 2023, and appointed Head of Financial Services in 2021.
Khurram assumes the role of Head of Business Advisory on 1 May, taking over from John Williams, who has held the position since 2013. Khurram will also join DACB's Executive Board.
In his new role Khurram will oversee the legal expertise across DACB's Business Advisory Group, which includes corporate, commercial, banking, tax, employment, technology, and regulatory.
Collectively, the group acts for a wide variety of leading businesses across a vast array of industries both domestically and internationally, while also supporting clients across DACB's three core sectors of insurance, health and real estate as part of the firm's full service offering.
Commenting on his appointment, Khurram said, "I'm delighted to lead DACB's Business Advisory Group and I look forward to building on the superb platform created by John. Under his tenure the group has grown to over 40 partners and over 100 specialist lawyers, who provide clients across sectors with exceptional legal support."
John Williams commented, "Khurram's extensive experience makes him an ideal leader and I would like to offer him my congratulations on this well-deserved appointment. I am confident that he will continue to build on the successes of DACB's business advisory services."
