    Bena has extensive experience of advising clients across a range of sectors including crime, health and social care.

    Prior to joining DAC Beachcroft, Bena was the Legal Manager for the Litigation, Prosecutions and Inquests Team at the CQC and she therefore has particular experience in providing advice on CQC enforcement, prosecutions and inquests. Bena has also handled cases dealing with urgent applications for closure of care homes and appeals to the First Tier Tribunal.

    Relevant experience includes:

    • Conducted the first prosecution of an NHS Trust and was lead lawyer on a number of high profile CQC prosecutions.
    • Delivered training for colleagues and external stakeholders on areas such as CQC prosecutions and inquests.
    • Provided tailored witness support for CQC operational and policy representatives due to appear as witnesses at First Tier Tribunals, coroners' courts and magistrates’ courts.

    • Member of the Honourable Society of Middle Temple
