Jack is an Partner based in London. He specialises in contentious insurance matters, including policy coverage analysis and domestic and international dispute resolution.
He advises in respect of coverage issues on a variety of classes including directors and officers, professional indemnity, aviation, cyber and tech and warranty and indemnity. Jack’s cases usually have an international element and he has worked with local lawyers in the USA, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Hong Kong, Israel and off-shore jurisdictions including Gibraltar and Bermuda.
He regularly advises on policy coverage issues such as year of attachment and aggregation. Jack was recently successful acting for insurers in an arbitration in a year of account dispute arising from a purported blanket notification.
Jack also acts in defence of claims against solicitors, insurance brokers and financial professionals.
Jack has extensive experience of the London insurance market having completed one year, and then a further seven months, seconded to leading London Market insurers. Jack also spent two months working in Hong Kong advising on a range of insurance claims.
Recent experience includes:
- Coverage advice in respect of two claims notified to a warranty and indemnity insurance policy following a US company’s purchase of an English company for consideration totalling $4bn.
- Coverage advice to D&O insurers regarding year of attachment and aggregation following a Class Action suit filed in New York, USA, claiming over $1bn.
- Monitoring advice to the insurers of a sports federation following a complaint to the EU Competition Commission.
- Coverage and monitoring advice to the insurers professional trustee company based in Gibraltar, who was facing claims regarding its involvement in trusts with a value exceeding $3bn.
