Joining from Kennedys where he was a partner for almost 16 years, Niall advises on all aspects of motor insurance claims. In addition to guidance on motor coverage issues, Niall's practice covers high value and complex liability claims including fatality claims, psychiatric, brain injury and chronic pain disorder claims, as well as higher value vehicle damage and credit hire claims.
Niall has played an active role in civil reform, engaging with Government and Parliament on issues such as the whiplash reforms, other civil reforms, autonomous and connected vehicles, e-scooters and wider transport policy. He has contributed to consultations by the CMA and Law Commission, to numerous trade press articles and is advising on autonomous vehicle technology.
Commenting on the appointment, Kate Archer, partner and head of CSG's national Motor Injury team, said, "Niall is hugely respected within the motor insurance market for his technical expertise and extensive experience and we are thrilled that he has joined our team. He has cultivated very strong relationships with key insurer clients, and will considerably strengthen our standing as the go-to firm for defending complex and high value motor claims."
Niall added, "In a challenging and rapidly evolving motor insurance sector, I am very much looking forward to joining DAC Beachcroft’s forward-focussed CSG motor injury team. The opportunity to work even more closely with clients on complex and high-value motor claims, within such a technically strong, collaborative and nationally integrated practice, was a compelling one.”
In addition to motor injury, CSG's 300-strong Motor team includes dedicated teams advising clients on vehicle hire and damage, fraud, recoveries and criminal motor defence.
Last year, CSG made several significant partner hires, strengthening its Sports Liability practice with David Spencer and welcoming Kate Prestidge as a partner in its Specialist Liability team and David Caswell as a partner in its Corporate Insurance & Risk team.
