Georgia specialises in advising insurers on setting a strategy, both from a business perspective and on a case by case basis, for identifying and defending fundamentally dishonest claims.

She has over 20 years’ litigation experience and specialises in insurance fraud. Georgia leads a team that delivers strategy for 10 insurer clients, each with dedicated resource and a strategy tailored to the specific objectives and counter fraud solutions for each individual insurer.

Georgia is the lead for Complex Injury Fraud, developing counter fraud strategy for cases of high value or complexity and advising a range of insurer clients as well as handling these cases. She is the point of contact and liaison across our internal network, linking our Complex Injury and Fraud Teams and is growing a dedicated team to support her. The demand from clients for identification of joint complex and fraud handling for these claims has increased recently with an appetite for proactive strategy.

Relevant experience includes:

• Advising on a staged claim involving a bus and third party vehicle with over 25 claimants. This required handling strategy and liaison between the customer, brokers, insurer and IFED. No payments were made resulting in significant savings for the insurer, protection of the customer’s reputation and two criminal convictions leading to prison sentences.
• Supporting one of our first clients to apply a proactive fraud strategy in their high value cases. Georgia has delivered training both to our team and the insurers client team on indicators and identification, triages cases and provides assessment of prospects. She also leads fraud strategy alongside the complex injury and quantum strategies as required. Significant savings have been delivered to the client as a result.
• Regularly advising clients on market changes in Counter Fraud, using Know Your Opponent to tackle specific issues targeting her clients and analysis of MI to support clients in evolving their strategies on a year by year basis. She advises on sanctions by way of committal or private prosecution where appropriate.

Georgia is a member of the Private Prosecutors Association and was part of a working group that assisted in drafting a chapter of the Code of Conduct which launched in 2019.
