In the course of her legal career, Philippa has practised in the Shanghai office of an international law firm where she was also involved in servicing Chinese oil majors on shipping as well as international trading and shipbuilding disputes.

• Acting for a P&I insurer following a container fire during transit, involving significant loss and damage across multiple shipments, overseeing technical investigations into causation, assessing legal liability and limitation and managing complex, multi‑party claims across several jurisdictions 

• Handling a complex multiparty charterparty arbitration arising from off-specification bunkers, acting for a Hong-Kong-based FD&D insurer and their member 

• Advising clients on a large scale off-hire dispute arising from force majeure issues linked to disruption caused by the Ukraine conflict
