About George

Bio
  • Biography

George has over three years civil litigation experience with a focus on personal injury litigation, motor claims (including credit hire), property disputes, data protection and costs. George’s burgeoning practice includes instruction by Claimants and Defendants alike, and from some of the country’s leading insurers. George has a reputation for providing clients with pragmatic solutions and always has a firm eye trained on fiercely protecting his clients’ bottom line.

George is regularly instructed in trials, applications, CMCs and CCMCs, and Stage 3 hearings. George also accepts a wide range of advisory and drafting instructions across all areas of his practice and is happy to provide training seminars and workshops to lawyers and clients.

Prior to joining 8DB, George worked for a number of years as an advocate representing the interest of a variety of clients, including leading financial institutions. During this period George gained experience in areas including possession and insolvency proceedings.

    Notable cases:

    • A v B (2022) – George drafted the Defence in claim made against a local authority for unfair processing pursuant to the Data Protection Act 2018 and the GDPR.
    • C v Z (2022) – George successfully had a claim for recovery and storage charges dismissed. This was on the grounds that Claimant’s father, who signed the credit recovery and storage agreement, did not in fact have actual or implied authority to so bind the Claimant, who had understood the services to have been provided for free pursuant to her insurance coverage.
    • W v H (2022) – George drafted the Defence and provided formal advice in a claim concerning an assault in a residential care facility by a service user.
    • J v B (2021) George provided formal advice on the prospects of bringing a successful recoveries claim against the proposed defendant plumbing company following an escape of water at a residential property.
