Biography
Kate has specialised in social care and abuse claims for most of her career and during this time, has acted for numerous organisations to include local authorities, sporting bodies, higher education institutions and high-profile individuals. Kate regularly advises on claims involving high-profile child deaths, child sexual exploitation, trafficking, and complex breaches of the Human Rights Act.
As an extension of Kate's work in this practice area, she is regularly instructed by clients to support them at inquests, including those where Article 2 is engaged. Kate is able to provide a comprehensive service to clients and support them from the point of notification of a death, through to a civil claim if one materialises. She also advises organisations in relation to mental health claims and deaths by suicide.
Kate is particularly passionate about her safeguarding skill set, having trained with some of the most prominent safeguarding organisations and most eminent forensic psychologists in the country. She frequently supports organisations following safeguarding disclosures, as well as proactively supporting them in the drafting or amending of their safeguarding policies.
Kate is accomplished in providing reputational and crisis management advice to her clients and supporting them through sensitive and high-profile situations.
