Simon Wortley

Simon is the location head for Clinical Risk in Manchester leading a team of 10 lawyers. He specialises in and has considerable experience of defending clinical negligence claims brought against healthcare professionals in the private sector including consultants, general practitioners, physiotherapists and nurses.

He has a particular interest in claims arising out of the development of cauda equina syndrome, and has been at the forefront of defending cases involving fertility treatment and genetics, notably PGD treatment.

Simon's clients include the UK's largest Medical Defence Organisation, as well and several of the country's leading private hospital groups, fertility units and secure mental health facilities. In addition, Simon advises several insurers based offshore and in overseas jurisdictions.

He advises private sector care home clients, and has strong relationships with those in the banking sector and others seeking to invest in private sector health organisations.
