Louise is experienced in representing healthcare professionals during investigations by professional regulatory bodies, such as the GMC, HPC, NMC and GOsC. She has represented health professionals in a wide range of cases, including those arising from concerns relating to health, conduct, professional performance and probity.
She advises General Practitioners, Primary Care Trusts and Local Health Boards in matters relating to the Performers' List Regulations 2004, including disciplinary and procedural issues, and has also appeared before the FHSAA.
In addition, Louise regularly represents individual doctors and healthcare organisations at inquests, including those of a complex nature and those with a high media profile. She also regularly assists and supports healthcare organisations in their investigations of serious untoward incidents.
She has experience in matters pertaining to the Mental Health Act 1983 and Mental Capacity Act 2007, including representation of healthcare professionals at inquests where concerns relating to the application of this legislation have arisen, and in providing general advice to individual practitioners and healthcare organisations. She has also represented clients in applications before the Court of Protection.
Louise advises on a wide range of medico-legal issues, on a day-to-day basis, including information governance (FOIA and DPA), consent, confidentiality and clinical governance.
