Jonathan Bonser is a clinical risk lawyer in our Manchester office, specialising in clinical negligence litigation. He defends clinical negligence claims brought against healthcare professionals in the private sector including consultants, general practitioners and nurses.
Having worked as a High Claims Handler and led a team of lawyers at the Medical Protection Society, Jonathan has an excellent understanding of client needs, which assists him in the effective handling of cases. He has experience of working in foreign jurisdictions, defending medical claims most notably in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and Israel.
Applying this knowledge, he adopts a practical, but creative, goal-orientated approach to litigation, which is appreciated by his clients. For example, a claims handler at the Medical Defence Union, 2015 said, "This is an excellent result... Your quantum advice was excellent and I know was much relied on by leading counsel. Your strategic advice was also fantastic and certainly made my management of the case much easier."
Jonathan has a special interest in Patient Safety, having co-written three books on the subject, two of which have been specially commended at the BMA Book Awards.
He qualified in 1990 and joined DAC Beachcroft in 2013.
