John specialises in complex and catastrophic personal injury cases for a number of major insurers. He has a particular interest in RTA law and directives.
He regularly represented insured individuals and companies in RTA/HSE/SEPA prosecutions and fatal accident inquiries. His focus is now on early resolution of large loss and catastrophic claims for insurers.
As Regional Senior Partner, he is responsible for leading a team of specialist partners, lawyers and paralegals serving insurers in Scotland. He is Scottish Relationship Partner for multiple insurers, large corporates and intermediaries.
He oversees compliance with insurer protocols, service level agreements and the provision and delivery of bespoke MI for insurers. He is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in personal injury law.

Catastrophic head injury case of a child settling before proof with saving of £5.5 million;
Involved for co-accused via insurers HSW policy defending criminal proceedings following death of 14 patients in care home fire and in subsequent fatal accident inquiry;
Pre-litigation settlement of tetraplegic claim within 3 months of instruction and 5 months of accident.
