International law firm DAC Beachcroft has today launched its latest collection of thought leadership, aimed at helping insurers identify where to focus their efforts most effectively in the search for operational and financial resilience.Hosted on its Informed Insurance microsite, the collection’s overarching message is that, if the challenges and threats facing the global insurance industry are interconnected, so too must be the solutions. Introducing the collection, Helen Faulkner, DACB’s Global Head of Insurance, said, “We’re delighted to be sharing our five new pieces of thought leadership today. Following last year’s report on Critical Uncertainties, which highlighted the interconnectivity of risks, our new collection, The Interconnectivity of Solutions, considers how the solutions to today’s disruptive uncertainties may also be connected. Finding these solutions, however, will require radical fresh thinking.”
The lead article looks afresh at issues facing the industry, such as the gap in protection between private sector insurance-led solutions and public provision; risk management in terms of cyber risk and climate change; diversity and homeworking; and consumer vulnerability. Its key concept is that there are thematic solutions common to these and other important issues. These interconnected solutions might include public/private partnership, government policy intervention, government investment, green recovery, regulatory action and international co-operation.The collection’s four other articles take a deeper dive into other key issues challenging the industry:
Climate Change – The Green Heart of ESG Issues
Privacy, Data Breaches and Class Actions – The Next Scandal is Just Around the Corner
The Tide of Social Unrest in Latin America
