Rebecca is an Associate in the Healthcare Team since May 2025 and previously on the Regulatory, Professional and Public Law Team. Prior to joining DAC Beachcroft, Rebecca was an Associate in another firm on the Public, Regulatory and Investigations team. Before training and qualifying as a solicitor, Rebecca worked as Legal Researcher with the Law Reform Commission of Ireland and as Judicial Assistant to Ms Justice Miriam O’Regan, judge of the Irish High Court.

Biography
Rebecca has experience in advising statutory regulators of their obligations and responsibilities pursuant to their respective governing legislation. She has advised the CEO of both the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland and of the Medical Council of Ireland in relation to their roles in relation to the process and steps to be taken by the CEO in relation to complaints against registered practitioners that are referred to the Fitness to Practise Committee. She has also advised the Medical Council and the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland in relation to emergency suspension applications to the High Court, and in relation to applications to the High Court to confirm sanctions to registrants following the conclusion of the fitness to practise process.
Rebecca now defends medical negligence claims on behalf of consultants, nurses, dentists, doctors, private clinics, pharmacies, cosmetic clinics etc. She advises on matters such as letters before action, procedural issues such as standing, timing, process, and substantive issues such as the merits (or otherwise) of a claim and litigation strategy. She also advises on mediation and settlement negotiations where relevant. She manages the litigation process in close coordination with the legal teams of these clients.
