  • Biography

    Shama has previously worked in a variety of roles at the Nursing and Midwifery Council and gained experience in regulatory processes and professional standards. Shama has worked as an Advocate for children, supporting vulnerable service users and ensuring their voices are heard. Known for a clear, reassuring, and practical approach, Shama works closely with clients to help them navigate the claims process confidentially.  

    Shama has also done years of voluntary work with a community cohesion group and worked closely with young people to help improve their lives, support them to resolve conflict and promote the importance of valuing and embracing diversity. Shama has won both the Philip Lawrence Award and the Diana Certificate of Excellence.

    Featured experience:

    • Shama has delivered strong and consistent results in liability contested cases and credit hire matters. In the case of C v U [2025], the claim was dismissed on the basis that the credit hire agreement was void on enforceability grounds. 
    • In NA v Z [2025] and JT v HL [2025] following the claim being dismissed, Shama secured an award for costs against the claimant for unreasonable conduct, pursuant to CPR 27.14 (2) (g)
