Freddie specialises in the defence of claims against a broad range of professionals. 

In particular, he has experience advising national surveying firms and London Market insurers on commercial and residential overvaluation claims, building survey disputes, expert determination matters, and property management claims. He also provides coverage advice to professional indemnity insurers on policy interpretation and indemnity issues.

In addition, Freddie advises insurers and insureds on coverage and defence strategies in claims brought against directors, including unfair prejudice petitions under section 994 of the Companies Act 2006 and other statutory and shareholder actions.

• Acting for a London-based firm of surveyors in the defence of a multi-million-pound claim arising from the alleged overvaluation of a newly developed commercial property 

• Defending a building surveyor against allegations that a pre-acquisition building survey failed to identify and adequately report significant structural defects at a residential property 

• Acting for a director in connection with claims alleging that they acted without proper authority and prejudiced shareholder interests through decisions said to have diminished the value of shareholdings
