Présentation
Lewis qualified as a solicitor in 2020 and obtained Higher Rights of Audience in 2022. Prior to joining 8DB, he worked in a general civil litigation team, acting for a broad range of national and international clients.
He has significant experience in property damage and construction disputes. He spent over five years representing a multi-billion-pound motor manufacturer in disputes involving product liability, personal injury, and consumer rights issues. His client base also included major corporates, such as a leading global pump manufacturer, construction companies, and an international airline.
He now acts in cases involving fire damage (including those linked to alleged product defects), escape of water claims, construction disputes, and losses arising from oil leaks. He regularly advises on and drafts statements of case across a wide range of property damage and product liability matters, and has represented clients successfully at both interim hearings and trial.
Lewis also spent a number of years representing a national motor finance broker, as well as acting for claimants in motor claims. Lewis' significant automotive experience now informs his defence work for insurers in RTA litigation, including cases involving allegations of fraud and exaggerated claims. He has achieved numerous successes in securing the dismissal of RTA claims at trial.
Lewis has a strong specialism in fraud. His interest in the area began during his master's degree at the London School of Economics, where he was awarded the Valentin Ribet Prize for best performance in Corporate Crime. In practice, he spent over five years working on complex fraud-related litigation, including advising corporates on strategies to identify and respond to fraudulent motor finance agreements, as well as disputes in the commercial and construction sectors.
He developed expertise in identifying sophisticated patterns of deception, including the use of shell companies, and has been involved in cases engaging issues such as piercing the corporate veil. This experience now underpins his work for insurers and brokers in claims involving fraudulent misrepresentation, deceit, and related causes of action, particularly in respect of RTAs and personal injury cases.
Across all areas of his practice, Lewis brings the combined perspective of solicitor and advocate, having managed cases throughout their full lifecycle. He provides clear, commercially focused and pragmatic advice, and delivers robust, effective advocacy. He guides clients through complex disputes from inception to trial with precision and strategic insight.
