International law firm DAC Beachcroft has hired two highly experienced insurance coverage specialists, Toby Savage and Will Jones, as partners in its global Marine & Energy Insurance practice.
Toby and Will both join from RPC, where they were partners in its International Risks team. Their appointments add significant international energy, marine, and power disputes expertise to DACB's global insurance business.
Toby has more than 20 years' experience advising on all aspects of insurance and reinsurance law. His practice focuses on coverage and disputes involving energy, property, construction, infrastructure and marine risks. He has a particular expertise in advising on large and complex claims arising in the downstream energy (oil & gas), renewables, power generation, petrochemical and mining sectors. Toby has considerable experience of claims in the Middle East and Africa and has built strong relationships with (re)insurers, brokers and loss adjusters in these regions.
Will specialises in large and complex insurance coverage disputes arising out of policies of energy, marine, transport, and property (re)insurance. His international experience includes having worked in Singapore, giving him first-hand knowledge of one of Asia’s key insurance markets.
Simon Jackson, partner and Head of Marine, Aviation, Energy, Shipping & Transportation at DAC Beachcroft, said, "I am delighted that Toby and Will have decided to join DAC Beachcroft. It is our aspiration to be the leading Marine & Energy Insurance team in the market and attracting partners of their calibre is a key step in achieving that objective. As well as their expertise and experience, I know Toby and Will's values match DACB's collaborative and supportive culture, and that culture underpins the service we provide to our clients across our global footprint. We are all looking forward to developing the practice together as a team."
Toby added, "I am excited to be joining DACB and being part of its ambitious plans for the Marine & Energy team. I was attracted by DACB’s growing international platform and its standing as a leading insurance firm, as well as the supportive culture at the firm.”
Will noted, "The Marine & Energy Insurance practice at DAC Beachcroft is a natural fit for me and my practice. I am looking forward to working with such a collaborative and international team that has both a strong reputation in the markets in which I work, as well as high ambitions for itself and its lawyers."
