William advises clients (including developers, employers, contractors, professionals, and consultants) on all aspects of construction and engineering law. A significant part of his practice involves advising insurers and professionals in the defence of professional indemnity claims and advising insurers on policy coverage issues. 

He has broad experience of contentious litigation matters and acts on high value and multi-party disputes on major infrastructure projects including civil works, hotel projects, oil refineries, chemical factories, shopping centres, waste treatments facilities, and renewable energy projects (wind and solar). Disputes include those relating to building safety issues, defective works, negligent design, delays, loss and expense, contract terminations, and payment issues.

• Acting as Project Counsel for a large international luxury hotel owner and operator in relation to the construction of a luxury hotel in London 

• Advising a UK architectural firm and its professional indemnity insurers in relation to a fire-safety claim arising out of a large mixed-use development in London 

• Advising a leading engineering and construction firm in an international ICC arbitration in relation to defects arising out of the construction of an oil refinery in the Caribbean
