David has over 25 years’ experience advising clients across a range of sectors within the insurance space. 

His litigation practice is focused upon the defence of serious and catastrophic injury claims, working to repudiate the claims or minimise client indemnity spend where a settlement is required.  
 
He has extensive experience of representing and defending the interests of clients across all types and values of EL/PL claims, with particular expertise in the areas of retail, construction, logistics and representing local authorities.  
 
David regularly supports clients in relation to risk management, claims analysis, and defensibility strategies, leveraging data and the latest trends and emerging risks. 

David’s relevant experience includes: 

• Leading the relationship for a large corporate, dealing with several thousand claims per annum, delivering millions of pounds in savings compared to the previous claims handling solution 

• Dealing with matters including accidents, assaults in the workplace, occupational disease, group actions and disability discrimination covering fatalities, amputations, brain injuries, chronic pain, psychiatric injury, food poisoning, occupational cancers, hand-arm vibration syndrome and noise-induced hearing loss 

• Acting on behalf of the successful defendant in the Court of Appeal in Macsalvors v Brush Transformers, an important decision on the scope of the Construction Plant Association (CPA) conditions of hire 

• At a previous firm, leading a team of almost 300 lawyers engaged in the delivery of solutions for customers across casualty, motor, fraud, claims management services, costs and volume recovery, with responsibility for the quality of products, innovation, service delivery, and performance
