Overview

International law firm DAC Beachcroft is accelerating its growth in the United States with the opening of an office in Miami and the addition of new insurance coverage teams in Miami and Los Angeles.

In Miami, DACB welcomes partner Joel McNabney and counsel Audrey Goldman, who bring deep expertise in insurance and reinsurance, and advise insurers and underwriters on complex, high-exposure coverage matters. Joel and Audrey will also work closely with DACB’s Latin America Business Development Manager, Sascha Stullenberg, who continues the role he has held since 2015.

Joining DACB in Los Angeles are partner Mitch Popham and counsel Melina Kountouris. Mitch is a highly experienced trial attorney who has led multibillion-dollar cases spanning business litigation, event cancellation, class action defence, and high-stakes insurance disputes. Melina advises insurers on intricate coverage matters, including first- and third-party cases across general liability, errors and omissions, property and casualty, and cyber policies.

DACB established its Miami presence in 2015 as a strategic hub to support its Latin American network, and the new office will play a central role in meeting client needs across the region. In January 2025, DACB opened offices in New York and Los Angeles, integrating insurance-focused teams from two different US law firms. Its New York office expanded further in March 2025 with the addition of another widely respected insurance coverage team.

Helen Faulkner, DACB's Managing Partner, said, "Our US operations continue to grow at pace, and we’re excited to see that momentum build. By bolstering the exceptional talent within our US team, we’re tapping into a thriving legal market where there is a demand for legal professionals who can navigate disputes, compliance, and claims issues with confidence and agility."

DACB's Head of International Business, Gustavo Blanco, commented, "The US is a dynamic yet complex market and in strengthening our position, we’re creating new opportunities for clients and colleagues alike. This expansion reflects our commitment to delivering market-leading expertise across the global insurance industry."

DACB's continued growth in the US is part of the firm's vision to have a presence in all key insurance markets across its chosen jurisdictions.

The firm expanded in Latin America and Asia-Pacific in 2024, opening offices in Hong Kong and Lima to enhance its global offering in insurance, shipping, international trade, and commodities. In 2025, DACB also announced strategic associations with leading insurance law firms in Ecuador and Australia.
