Présentation
Louise is known for dealing with unusual claims, such as representing a sovereign state within England. She has successfully managed group litigations involving food contamination and carbon monoxide poisoning. Louise receives instructions from long-standing clients and is considered a trusted advisor. She is known for being approachable and tenacious in equal measure.
Louise's relevant experience includes:
- Successfully representing the defendant in the Court of Appeal in the case of Briggs v CEF Holdings [2017] EWCA Civ 2363. This case involved the interpretation of CPR pt 36 in the defendant's favour.
- Successfully representing a food manufacturer whose product was contaminated by Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC). Louise assessed and managed the various claims presented, litigating the lead claim, and securing dismissal at trial of that claimant's claim, causing the others to fall away.
- Defending a well-known whole-body vibration product manufacturer against a claim that the vibrations caused brain injury
- Successfully representing a computer manufacturer at trial in a fire damage claim, after the claimant alleged her house and contents were set on fire as a result of the computer's Li-ion battery going into 'thermal runaway', which is the phenomenon of exothermic chain reactions within the battery
