Our International Arbitration team represents commercial organisations in all sectors, with particular expertise in relation to construction and engineering, insurers and reinsurance, and advising governments. We advise in both institutional and ad-hoc arbitrations under many substantive laws, and including standard form contracts (such as FIDIC).

We fully understand the intricacies and tactics of the arbitral process, and we are experts at using it effectively to maximise the benefit for our clients. We advise at the pre-dispute stage of drafting arbitration clauses and handle any dispute from the outset of arbitral proceedings (including the selection of the tribunal and all preliminary arguments) through to hearings and any post-arbitration issues.

Our arbitration team in Paris work with other specialist lawyers across our global network advising on disputes throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, Latin America and North America, working alongside local lawyers where required.

We can advise you on:

  • Drafting of arbitration clauses, often for high value and complex construction and engineering infrastructure disputes
  • Out of court settlement negotiations
  • Commercial, Insurance and Reinsurance disputes
  • Advice and defence in arbitration proceedings, both ad hoc and institutional (CEFAREA, ICC, ICSID, LCIA, CIETAC) in France and in foreign countries
  • Post-arbitration recourse before national courts
  • Jurisdictional issues
  • Enforcement in France and internationally of court decisions and arbitral awards
  • ICC Arbitrators, Mediators and Chairman of Arbitral Tribunals (members of the ICC French Committee, ICC France Commission on Transport and ICC France Commission on arbitration)
