Supporting a major acquisition

When TalkTalk was acquiring Blinkbox from Tesco it turned to us to provide HR support for this complex integration project. It included changes to roles and employment terms, consultation about staff transfers and redundancies. We worked closely with TalkTalk to understand what they wanted to achieve, the materials they had prepared and the timetable they were working to. We:

• Supported line mangers in group and individual consultation meetings;
• Ensured employees received appropriate communications;
• Worked closely with TalkTalk’s HR and legal team to ensure what we did aligned with what they were doing;
• Provided consultants across multiple sites;
• Constantly flexed our support up or down depending on TalkTalk’s need.

The exercise was successfully completed with TalkTalk making the changes it needed to ensure the legacy Blinkbox business was fit for the future and integrated into TalkTalk’s operations. No legal claims were brought by any affected employees.
