Who are we?

Our Travel and Tourism team at DAC Beachcroft are a dedicated team who deal with claims arising from accidents with an international element.

Having the right people deal with your claim from the outset is paramount. If jurisdiction is to be challenged, it must be challenged when proceedings are acknowledged or the right to do so is lost. Our lawyers are highly technical experts who are able to identify these issues at the beginning of a case. The instructions we receive from clients are wide and varied, including defending motor accidents both at home and abroad, defending personal injury claims arising from accidents abroad, and acting for hoteliers and their insurers including both claims that sit within the Package Tour Regulations and those that fall outside. We also undertake recovery work for losses arising from policy payments such as repatriation and medical expenses.

How can we help you?

In the motor arena, litigation may arise from a relatively straight forward road accident in England and Wales where an English driver is involved in an accident with a driver from another country, or more complex circumstances where an English citizen is involved in an accident in another country with a driver from that country. In these latter cases, the law applicable to the case will ordinarily (subject to some exceptions) be the law of the country where the accident occurred. However, the victim will be able to bring legal proceedings in the country of his or her domicile.
