Natasha Marshall

Natasha specialises in contentious insurance and reinsurance matters.

She has around eight years’ post-qualification experience in high-value, complex coverage and defence disputes, and advises insurers and reinsurers across various classes of business, including Professional Indemnity, Financial Institutions, Directors & Officers, Cyber, Contingency and Aviation. Natasha advises regularly on year of attachment, scope of notification and aggregation issues, as well as acting for solicitors, accountants and pensions advisors in defence of professional negligence claims.

Natasha is experienced in all forms of dispute resolution, including litigation and arbitration, as well as less formal methods such as mediation and negotiation. She has completed four secondments to claims and claims legal teams within the London market and her experience means that she understands the pressures under which her clients operate and she works closely with them to achieve their commercial objectives.

Relevant experience includes advising:

• insurers of various TV / film companies in respect of coverage issues arising out of the cancellation of productions due to COVID-19.
• insurers on policy coverage and liability issues in respect of a $40m dispute between an auditing firm and the US Environmental Protection Agency.
• a national aviation regulator on potential liability issues arising out of a major air show disaster.
• professional indemnity insurers on coverage issues arising out of a €30m claim for breach of contract against a global travel technology company.
• cyber liability insurers on various data breach claims notified by a large retailer.
• a law firm and its insurers on an £18m claim for professional negligence arising out of the firm’s advice in the context of an insolvency.

Natasha is a member of the Law Society and has Higher Rights (Civil).
