    Lindsay is an Associate in Casualty-Injury and specialises in providing advice and defending personal injury claims for insurers and nominated corporates.

    She has over 10 years’ experience defending personal injury claims and advising clients across a range of sectors, particularly retail and leisure and construction industries. Her key insurer clients include Zurich and NFU Mutual.

    Lindsay specialises in advising insurers and nominated corporates arising from public and employer’s liability claims, especially those relating to serious workplace incidents. Lindsay handles a wide range of personal injury claims across a spectrum of values, from slips, trips and falls, psychiatric injuries, fatalities; to complex orthopaedic injuries and large loss cases. Lindsay has a background in serious motor claims, prosecutions and health & safety regulatory work, which assists her to deal with cases which involve associated criminal proceedings. She regularly provides initial advice and support following early notification of claims, to lead on investigations and early rehabilitation needs. Lindsay also devises and delivers bespoke training workshops for clients which includes training to insurers, and their customers on a range of personal injury tactics, claims defensibility and health and safety issues.

    Relevant experience includes:

    • Advising directors, trustees and corporates, being investigated for health and safety offences, following serious injury incidents to employees in the care and construction sectors.
    • Successfully defending clients at trial in relation to a construction incidents arising from falls at height and work equipment.
    • Working as in-house Solicitor for Zurich Insurance Plc providing advice, claims handling support and training to their casualty expert claims centre.
    • Delivering interactive workshops, mock trials based on employer’s liability incidents and advising clients on a range of claims defensibility issues, including: suitability of risk assessments and method statements, permit to work systems, pre-action disclosure, management of contractors, specific duties to protect from slipping/ tripping/falls, manual handling, working at height policies and traffic management.
    • Representing and advising clients at Joint Settlement Meetings and interlocutory Court hearings.
