Johanna Lipponen

Johanna is a Solicitor sitting in DAC Beachcroft’s Information Law team, specialising in data protection and commercial law matters.

She qualified in September 2021 and joined DAC Beachcroft in March 2022. Johanna has experience advising clients across a range of sectors including insurance, and retail fashion and marketing communications agencies in her previous role.

Prior to joining DAC Beachcroft, Johanna worked mainly with fashion and footwear retail brands, providing them with broad commercial legal advice on intellectual property matters (trademarks and copyright), IT, data protection, marketing and advertising compliance, consumer rights matters and distribution and licensing arrangements.

Johanna currently provides a wide range of data protection advice to predominantly insurance clients, including reviewing, amending and advising on clients’ standard data protection agreements and privacy notices, playbooks, decision trees and checklists, dealing with subject access requests, reviewing and advising on the data protection elements of commercial contracts, drafting both intra-group and external data sharing agreements and researching and providing guidance on international data transfers and on the data protection implications of new insurance product propositions.

As part of her role, she also advises clients on commercial matters such as software licensing and distribution agreements, software-as-a-service agreements and information security provisions, as well as on consumer rights related agreements (such as terms of use and terms and conditions in relation to shipping and returns).
