Hannah Eccles

Hannah specialises in the defence of high value clinical negligence cases, particularly obstetric.  Additionally, she has a growing dental negligence practice.

She has over 20 years’ experience in advising clients across a range of clinical negligence claims including spinal injury, ENT, oncology, ophthalmology and General Practice.  Her key clients include NHS Resolution and the Medical Defence Union.

Relevant experiences includes:

• Successfully defending a general dental practitioner at Trial in a case involving a soft tissue injury to the floor of the mouth during a root extraction ensuring that the dental practitioner’s reputation was protected and providing support throughout.
• Successfully defending a cardiology claim against Oxford University NHS Foundation Trust concerning leading to significant savings to the NHS and avoided the need for six busy NHS clinicians having to attend a 7 day Trial in the High Court.
• Acting for the NHS in numerous birth injury cases valued at up to £29m involving the management of numerous expert witnesses and clinicians.
