  • Biography

    Graham Briggs is a Partner in the Professional and Commercial Risks Department and has experience in advising on coverage and defence strategies in respect of Directors' and Officers' insurance, predominantly in the SME business area (including charities, unincorporated associations and residents associations).

    Graham also has experience in dealing with claims against a wide variety of professionals, including claims against insurance brokers, valuers, and estate agents. 

    Graham frequently advises on coverage issues under both Professional Liability and D&O policies.   He also regularly provides training and speaks at seminars.

    Graham's experience includes:

    • Acting as in a coverage and monitoring role in relation to a large fraud investigation where directors were accused of defrauding HMRC of tax in excess of £150m.
    • Acting for an insurance broker facing claims from both the policyholder and from an insurer for breach of duty and breach of a binding authority.
    • Acting for a director in a three week trial in which the director was alleged to have acted fraudulently and/or in breach of his fiduciary duties.
