Andrew Burke

Andrew has over 25 years’ experience acting for clients in defence litigation across a range of sectors including casualty, motor, disease and complex recovery cases. Andrew specialises in complex and large loss personal injury claims.

Relevant experience includes:

• Successfully negotiating a compromise settlement in a complex paraplegic case for an insurer and securing a significant contribution from a third party, thereby achieving a substantial saving on costs and damages for the client.
• Successfully securing release from proceedings for a client in a complex recovery case where the recovery amount pursued by the claimant was in excess of £1.5 million. Advising the client on appropriate tactics, strategy and the instruction of various experts enabled Andrew to achieve the best result for the client.  

Andrew is a ranked lawyer in Chambers and Partners, with Chambers recognising his substantial experience in personal injury cases. Chambers quotes clients as commenting that he is “a very able practitioner who very much contributes to getting a solution” and “a very collegiate lawyer”.   

Prior to qualifying as a Solicitor, Andrew was a barrister at the Bar of Northern Ireland. He is Law Society-accredited in advanced advocacy.
