International law firm DAC Beachcroft’s Claims Solutions Group was the top winner at last night’s National Insurance Awards, landing both the Insurance Law Award and Innovative Product Award (Analytics), the latter for an automated fraud risk detection tool developed jointly with global insurer, Zurich Insurance.
The first accolade, the Insurance Law Award, recognised the firm’s Whiplash Reforms Support Programme, a comprehensive package of products including a dedicated microsite, AI-backed digital tools and extensive training modules and materials that were developed by DACB’s motor team to assist motor insurers, pre and post the introduction of the Whiplash Reforms and Official Injury Claim (OIC) portal.
Later in the evening, DACB and Zurich Insurance jointly collected the Innovative Product Award (Analytics) for developing the insurance industry’s first automated EL/PL fraud risk detection tool.
Claire Laver, partner and head of counter fraud at DACB, said, “The fraud detection tool is a great example of how we collaborate with our clients. Both businesses had been discussing for some time how to bring more innovation into insurance claims, particularly around EL/PL fraud detection, and had concluded that a bespoke solution was needed. The results generated by the new fraud detection tool have been impressive.”
Commenting on the Whiplash Reforms Support Programme, Emma Fuller, partner and head of market and strategy for motor at DACB, added: “Feedback from clients on how our programme continues to support them in adapting to the new motor claims process has been outstanding and to receive this award is further endorsement of that.”
