International law firm DAC Beachcroft is pleased to announce that it has been appointed to act for the Metropolitan Police Service (The Met) in the provision of commercial legal advice.

The appointment, which follows a highly competitive tender process via the National Legal Services Framework (NLSF), will see DAC Beachcroft working in a formalised partnership with The Met for the first time.

DAC Beachcroft will provide procurement, general commercial and governance advice to support The Met’s vision and values, which are focused on being the most trusted police service in the world. The new contract will begin on 1 May 2021 and run for four years, until April 2025.

The Met is responsible for law enforcement in the Greater London area (excluding City of London), and for keeping its 8.6 million residents safe. Its mission is to work closely with its partners and the public to focus on what matters most to Londoners, and to achieve the best outcomes in the pursuit of justice.

Alistair Robertson, partner at DAC Beachcroft, comments on the win, “This significant appointment is testament to the depth of our expertise in public procurement, governance and commercial contracts. We are delighted to support The Met in delivering upon its important responsibilities in the UK capital.”

The NLSF is a framework agreement covering a wide range of legal services for Elected Police and Crime Commissioners, GLA functional bodies, Police Forces and their partner organisations in England, Wales & Northern Ireland and Local Authorities.
