DAC Beachcroft launches careers programme to support returners to the law

International law firm DAC Beachcroft is pleased to announce the launch of its new career returners programme to support legal professionals considering a return to the profession following an extended career break.

To coincide with the launch of ‘Reconnect: A Life that Works as you Return to Law’, DAC Beachcroft has partnered with network organisation Women Returners to host a series of webinars where those looking to get back into the profession can find out more about the programme, the opportunities available at DACB, and the support that will be available to them, such as training, mentoring, and flexible and agile working arrangements. The webinars will also provide advice on how to prepare for a return to work and give participants the chance to talk to others who have returned to the law, as well as DACB partners about their experiences of working at the firm.

“We are committed to offering a variety of routes into the legal profession for people at all stages of their careers,” said Sue Jenkins, DAC Beachcroft’s Diversity & Inclusion partner. “It can be a daunting prospect to return to the law after being out of the profession for a while. But we recognise that returners have a lot to offer. We are eager to engage with them and provide the support they may need to come back to work.”

Eleanor Ludlam, senior associate at DAC Beachcroft, Back to Law Ambassador for the Law Society, and herself a returner to the law after a career break, added, “This is an opportunity for all returners to explore their options. They might be parents looking to go back to work once their kids are at school, carers, or simply those who have taken a career break to pursue other interests. They all have two things in common though: they are raring to get back to work, and they are nervous about skills they might have forgotten or new skills they might need to learn. This programme is a way to get a foot in the door again.”
