DAC Beachcroft is pleased to announce the hire of employment partner David Speakman, who joins the firm’s London Walbrook office on 1 June. David, who previously held the role of Counsel at Linklaters, specialises in handling complex employment matters for clients across the financial services and commercial sectors.
David has a wealth of experience as an employment lawyer, having started his career at Eversheds, and spending extended periods with Clifford Chance and Linklaters. In recent years he has focused on supporting blue chip clients on sensitive, complex and high value matters including litigation, investigations and corporate transactions.
Khurram Shamsee, Head of London Employment at DAC Beachcroft, said, “We’re delighted to welcome David to our team; his practice and experience are a perfect match for the platform we have built over the last five years. In particular David will enhance our offering to financial services sector clients, covering the overlapping employment and regulatory issues following the introduction of the Senior Managers & Certification Regime.”
David Speakman said, “The work of DAC Beachcroft’s Employment team is well-known in the London marketplace, especially for complex discrimination and whistleblowing claims. I look forward to continuing to build that reputation with the rest of the team.”
DAC Beachcroft’s Employment practice currently has 18 partners and a further 75 fee earners based in London, Bristol, Newcastle, Manchester and Leeds. The London Employment team, which David joins, comprises 7 partners and 22 other fee earners. The team covers the full spectrum of employment work, alongside specific expertise in pensions and business immigration matters.
