The Manchester Corporate team at international law firm DAC Beachcroft has launched a new Japan Desk to provide a value-added service to Japanese businesses operating in the UK and UK companies looking to trade with Japan.
The new Desk is headed by Legal Director Andrew Clare, who joined the firm's Manchester office in June having spent more than 10 years in Japan and is fluent in Japanese. Before joining DAC Beachcroft last month, Andrew was senior counsel for technology and consulting company Accenture Japan.
The new specialist service has been designed to reflect the large concentration of Japanese-owned companies trading in the UK. It will handle the full range of corporate and commercial legal services, including incorporation, acquisition, real estate, commercial agreements, employment matters and tax.
Commenting on the new service, Andrew said: "Through our DAC Beachcroft Japan Desk, we believe we have a unique offering in the northwest region, which will enable us to provide bespoke legal services to Japanese businesses here and across the country as well as to those UK companies seeking to trade with Japan."
