Published 29 julio 2014

International law firm DAC Beachcroft has appointed Anita Rivera as a partner and the new Head of its Planning and Environmental team.

Anita joins DAC Beachcroft from Reynolds Porter Chamberlain, where she was a senior associate in planning and regeneration.  Formerly a senior associate at both Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Dentons, she will take up her new role on 6 August.

Anita specialises in advising both public and private sector bodies on the full range of planning matters, including judicial reviews, planning obligations, listed buildings and conservation zones, Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) and strategic policy. Her practice has seen her take lead roles on a string of high-profile projects, including the establishment of new stores for Sainsbury's, AstraZeneca's move to new headquarters in Cambridge and several regeneration schemes in London.

She will oversee DAC Beachcroft's national Planning and Environmental practice, one of the leading legal teams of its kind in the UK. The team acts for developers, public bodies, local authority landowners and highway authorities and includes several lawyers who worked previously within local authorities, giving DAC Beachcroft a unique understanding of the needs and drivers of both the public and private sector.

Commenting on the appointment, Robert Lee, Head of DAC Beachcroft's Real Estate practice, said: "We are delighted to welcome a lawyer of Anita's calibre to the firm. Her first-rate experience and the client synergies she shares with our team make her a natural addition to DAC Beachcroft's national planning offering."

He added: "Anita will bring a great deal of gravitas, hands-on ability and technical know-how to our business and I've no doubt the Planning and Environment team will go from strength to strength under her leadership."
