Advice for those in General Practice NHS

Published 1 septiembre 2020

As of 1 April 2019, all those working in general practice in England are covered by NHS Resolution's Clinical Negligence Scheme for General Practice (CNSGP). This means that all those working in general practice who are carrying out activities for NHS general practice are now covered under the scheme - from reception staff to GPs.

NHS Resolution's purpose is to provide expertise to the NHS to resolve claims fairly, share learning for improvements and preserve resources for patient care. Under the stewardship of NHS Resolution, the emphasis on preventing incidents and sharing learning has never been greater and with this in mind, we have collated some useful guidance aimed at improving patient safety and reducing claims, with advice from experienced clinicians on dealing with such incidents from the perspective of those working in general practice in England.

For more information on preventing claims and dealing with incidents please contact Rachel Roberts-Jenkins, Partner or Stuart Keyden, Senior Associate at DAC Beachcroft.
