DAC Beachcroft’s formidable national Complex and Catastrophic personal injury practice spans 35 partner teams across 9 locations, with over 135 lawyers available. The teams are based in Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Newcastle, Newport, Winchester and Belfast.
All of our partners are ranked in both Chambers and Legal 500 directories and the national group has remained at rank 1 in excess of 10 years. All of the partners are supported by experienced associates and solicitors, who have worked within the insurance industry for many years. They all have a full and detailed understanding of the industry and how insurers want these types of claims dealt with.
Our team’s key focus, when working on a complex and catastrophic injury case, is to work closely with our clients to develop a clear strategy from the outset.
We aim to provide a comprehensive plan, which covers early contact and engagement with the insured’s and relevant witnesses, as well as early dialogue with the claimant’s solicitors. Through this method we are able to secure positive and collaborative behaviour from both sides to reduce the issues from an early stage.
The scale, sensitivity and level of these cases means that we work in close conjunction with our insurer clients as a team. The strong relationships we enjoy with our clients which go back over many years mean that 90% of the market will instruct us on this type of case as their first choice legal team.
It is our broad experience of the hugely varied range of work involved that enables our partners and solicitors to run effective case strategies. Collectively our team has many decades of experience and has handled claims with aggregate claim reserves exceeding £3 billion.
We also provide bespoke training and mentoring to our clients to help them develop and improve their own teams abilities and to grow and develop alongside our lawyers of the future.
Our national team is dedicated to the provision of excellent services for the insurance industry. We enjoy a strong working relationship with key influencers, that we have worked hard to develop and grow over the years.
This approach extends to not just dealing with cases, but looking at the wider, more strategic issues affecting this sector. In particular, we have worked closely with insurers to develop and produce the Serious Injury Guide.
The team also works closely with Andrew Parker’s Strategic Litigation team. Andrew works closely alongside the ABI providing assistance at a high level on issues that affect the entire insurance industry.

“Great news and great result. I had a feeling that in face of all the evidence on this matter the claimant’s solicitor would not risk wasting their own time and costs. Certainly was a rather interesting one the likes of which we don’t see often” Debbie Gray, Legal Assistant, Primark
“As ever, when I work together with you and your team, it is always a full collaboration. You always provide me with detailed updates and in turn, the Excess Layer market where applicable."Gary Spence, Technical Claims Manager, Motor Injury Claims, RSA.
