Our recently-formed, partner-led Pro Bono Steering Committee is engaged in developing a new strategy to build our pro bono activities. Currently, our lawyers volunteer at the Avon and Bristol Law Centre in Bristol and the BPP Law School Advice Clinic in Manchester. We have also provided training on compiling bundles and completing court documents for volunteers at the Personal Support Unit, at the Royal Courts of Justice.
We provided pro bono legal advice to help our client Aviva in its efforts to develop sustainable communities in the UK through the Aviva Community Fund. DAC Beachcroft helped the Aviva Community Fund on ‘Empowerment’ for 1,100 small charitable organisations being supported, by providing a series of know-how blogs on charity law issues that may affect them. Topics covered included setting up a charity, appointing Trustees, and understanding charitable funds.
