Motor Recoveries

Who are we?

DAC Beachcroft’s Motor Recoveries team is a market leading offering, working for over 10 insurers and self-insureds. The team is part of our National Recovery Team of over 160 specialist lawyers - the largest dedicated recovery team in the UK.

As part of the National Recovery Team we are able to draw down experience to deal with unique motor recovery claims requiring different skill sets.

DAC Beachcroft has a dedicated Motor Recoveries team, which specialises in maximising motor recoveries and is one of the largest in the sector. We have the capability to deal with large volumes (including any outsource projects you may have or spikes in instructions) as we can effectively manage scale, and we also have the breadth of experience of working with a large range clients.

Our streamlined processes, bespoke case management and effective use of technology means that we have excellent success rates and a proven track record. On average, we handle in excess of 20,000 motor recoveries claims per annum.

Our team is particularly skilled in:

  • Subrogated Motor Recoveries
  • Uninsured Loss Recoveries
  • International Motor Recoveries
  • Recovery of overpayments and duplicate payments
  • Enforcement

How can we help you?

Our philosophy on dealing with recovery claims is to ensure we have commercially focussed and pragmatic settlement strategies, managing claims to conclusion with a minimum lifecycle, whilst maintaining our technical excellence. We manage this through a variety of methods including; Triage & Allocation; fee earner skillset (including technical skills), capability, capacity, and surge projects.

Cases are triaged and allocated by an experienced supervisor on a “Right Lawyer, Right Case” basis. This ensures that the right level of person always deals with the right level of claim. This is a critical aspect of successful and proactive case management so that the lawyer handling has the right skillset to deal with the particular case in question. We know that this is the key to reducing settlement times as cases are prevented from “drifting”.

We operate strict rules around triage and allocation, whilst also allowing for technical development to allow lawyers to enhance their expertise. Each and every lawyer in the team has a “skills profile”, which will reference what they have been assessed at in terms of level of competency and levels of technical ability. This ensures that our Triage & Allocation team correctly allocate on both capability and capacity.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank you very much for your very efficient and capable work. It was good to be able to speak with you too and find some refreshing personal service and good understanding of all the points I was trying to make regarding the incident which you took on board and represented my interests very well against the other side. I was well aware we could possibly lose, in the end, as I told you, and even if we had done I would still be thanking you for your efforts even though I would not have been so happy.”

“Really appreciate the work from yourself and the team, and really great to get this positive response.”
