Tim Dennis is a senior associate specialising in commercial disputes, particularly those involving procurement related issues.
Tim has acted in several high profile and leading procurement cases in recent years, and regularly advises both contracting authorities and economic operators in relation to challenges following breaches of the Public Contract Regulations. Tim regularly provides training to clients on procurement litigation case law and strategy.
Successfully striking out a claim issued against a contracting authority client on the grounds of limitation;
Defending a £280m claim against a contracting authority brought by an aggrieved bidder following the award of a contract for a £2bn redevelopment project in London;
Defending a contracting authority in a procurement challenge following the award of a contract for Part B services, which included the successful lifting of the automatic suspension invoked once proceedings had been started;
Defending a local authority in a high profile challenge of the procurement of substance misuse services;
Advising an aggrieved bidder following the award of a sexual health services contract by a local authority.
Tim regularly advises clients in respect of commercial and contractual disputes. His recent work includes successfully securing urgent access to land to carry out a survey of machinery due to be dismantled, advising a public body in relation to a high value dispute with a joint venture private sector partner, and acting for the claimant in an ongoing multi-million pound breach of confidence claim.
Tim qualified in 2007 and joined DAC Beachcroft in 2014.
